Star Book Workshop—Finale!

Fourteen women, glue. paper., needles and thread…..it’s a formula for fun and great book arts. Students made their own bookcloth, cut their beautiful papers, glued them into sections, and sewed the sections into a star book. It was just a pleasure to work with people who were so creative, industrious, and enthusiastic. Enjoy some photos of our efforts and their resuls. Applaud even.

The books are beautiful! I’m sure your students were thrilled with what they made in class. They really look great. How fun! (And I like your method of color-coding your knot demo. That’s one of things I like about your teaching — you make the best demo pieces!)

I am thinking of starting a Demo Pieces Museum. I made a great one to demonstrate three different kinds of corner folds. The classroom configuration is great for working in groups but not so great for demos so they have to have BIG props. Thanks Ellen.

I really meant it–I remember your demo props for the box-making workshop. That was great! You *should* keep a teaching collection of the demo pieces you make. You’re very good at visually conveying hard-to-grasp details.
